Air Conditioning Services have three models of High Temperature Heat Pumps. Because the heat pump in certain conditions can deliver up to 80°C hot water they have a variety of applications.
• Farming community – Wash down of milking plant and vats.
• Viticulture industry – Wash down of vats.
• Commercial application – Where hot water is required for high temperature wash down / sanitisation of plant and equipment.
• Replacement for existing fossil fuel boilers.
The high temperature heat pumps have been designed to operate in an ambient temperature range of 0°C to 43°C; the higher the ambient temperature (outdoor temperature) then the greater efficiencies will be achieved. The highest outlet water temperature is 80°C.
The heat pumps have an Enhanced Vapour Injection (EVI) Compressor which provides:
• Capacity improvement.
The capacity is improved by increasing the enthalpy difference (amount of heat content released in the system at constant pressure) rather than increasing the mass flow.
• Increased COP.
The efficiency improves due to the fact that the gain in capacity is greater than the increase in power that the compressor uses.
• Cost and Energy Advantage.
Because a smaller sized compressor can be used to achieve the same capacity as a larger conventional model, there is an inherent operating cost advantage.

Project one
“In 2014 the PAK’n SAVE Supermarket in Paraparaumu needed to replace their gas fired hot water system. The hot water was required for the sanitary wash down of the butchery department in the supermarket so it was critical that the water temperature was sufficiently hot enough to meet the strict hygiene requirements. The project manager contacted Steven Adams from Temperature Solutions in Wellington to seek a cost effective solution. Steven recommended that one of the 13.2Kw High Temperature Heat Pumps be used. The heat pump was installed and commissioned in 3Q 2014 and has met the constant demands of high temperature wash down at a cheaper operating cost than the pre-existing gas system”
